Hanbok

Sojung brought her hanbok from Korea. It is beautiful. She said she wears it to weddings, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and other special occasions.

Just in case you wanted to make the rice and fish cake recipe, here it is. Let me know if you have any questions.

This Weekend

Sojung and her friend Slgi making the bulgogi. Slgi is also from Korea and here on an exchange program.

Fried sweet potatoes tossed in a sugar syrup and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Very tasty!
Rice cakes (the long pasta like tubes), cabbage, hard boiled eggs, fish cakes, onion and pepper paste. We also had bulgogi and rice. I am happy to report that Marcus ate his entire meal with chopsticks!
On Saturday I took the girls to Tysons to shop and they had a great time. We went with my friend Kim and her exchange student, Tina. We almost had to drag the girls out of the mall.

Gifts

Sojung brought us a gift when she first arrived. She brought Marcus a business card holder and me a jewlry box. They are beautiful.
We gave her welcome gifts as well. We bought her a Korean flag, Bath and Body products, a NVCA school T-shirt and water bottle, and movie tickets.

She's a Keeper!

It has been three weeks since Sojung arrived in the US. She has really settled in and made herself at home. Her English has really improved in just three short weeks. She willingly helps prepare meals, carry in groceries and take care of the cats. Today while I was scooping the cat box she offered to do it for me. That is something I would have never asked her to do, but she did it with a smile. I am afraid that June will come sooner than we are ready for it to come.

Sojung's new tattoo!!

Sojung is doing very well in school. She made an A on her Bible test! To celebrate we allowed her to get a tattoo! Don't worry, it will wash off.

Sojung and I have been shopping. The girl loves clothes! No wonder we get along so well.

Super Bowl Sunday

We were invited to a Super Bowl party at our friends' house. They are also Sojung's rep for PIE. We had a great time. This is the cake Sojung and I made. She also made bulgogi which was a big hit!
